Marco Jansen has had a short but stellar cricket career

Marco Jansen is a South African cricketer. He made his List A debut for North West in the 2017–18 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge on 8 April 2018.  He made his first-class debut for North West in the 2018–19 CSA 3-Day Provincial Cup on 11 October 2018. In January 2019, he was named in the South Africa national under-19 cricket team’s squad for their tour of India. He was the leading wicket-taker for North West in the 2018–19 CSA 3-Day Provincial Cup, with 27 dismissals in six matches.

Marco Jansen started his cricket career as an opening batsman. He scored 164 in a 20 over match when he was just nine. This incredible performance convinced his father to train Marco and his brother Duan Jansen seriously.

Marco Jansen made his T-20 debut in 2019

He made his Twenty20 debut for the Knights in the 2018–19 CSA T20 Challenge on 28 April 2019. In September 2019, he was named in the squad for the Durban Heat team for the 2019 Mzansi Super League tournament. Marco’s twin brother, Duane, also plays cricket for North West.

When the Indian team went on the last South Africa tour, Marco Jansen kept the ball away from Virat Kohli’s bat three times in a row. Virat Kohli later also praised this player.

Team India was practicing in the nets before the match on the African tour. During this time, Marco Jansen showed a keen interest in bowling to King Kohli.
