Commonwealth Video games 2022: Harjinder Kaur wins bronze in weightlifting

Harjinder Kaur gained the bronze medal within the Girls’s 71kg Weightlifting occasion on the 2022 Commonwealth Video games on Monday.

Harjinder lifted a mixed weight of 212kg (93kg within the Snatch and 119kg within the Clear and Jerk) to complete third.

Sarah Davies of England gained the gold with a complete of 229kg - a Video games Document - whereas Alexis Ashworth of Canada took the silver with 214kg. Davies lifted 103kg and 126kg within the Snatch and the Clear and Jerk, respectively.

Harjinder’s bronze was India’s ninth medal on the present version version of the Video games.

Earlier on Monday, Shushila Devi gained silver within the Girls’s 48kg Judo occasion earlier than Vijay Kumar Yadav clinched bronze within the Males’s 60kg class.

Indian weightlifters have now gained seven medals at Birmingham 2022, with Mirabai Chanu, Jeremy Lalrinnunga, Achinta Sheuli, Sanket Sargar, Bindyarani Rani, Gururaja Poojary and Harjinder all securing podium finishes.
